Workshop / Image Competition

By popular request, we are bringing educational events to our members further afield. All photographers from across the province are invited to attend either, or both, workshops.

Each Ignite Session offers a keynote speaker and two workshop components, which run in tandem:

1) IGNITE Workshops are offered by PPOC Master photographers and guest speakers to guide emerging photographers by providing practical photography skills, sales, pricing, and marketing strategies, social media, reveal industry standards, and instil a sense of confidence and direction for local photographer’s businesses.

2) RE-IGNITE Workshops are designed especially for established professional photographers. Join your colleagues and guest speakers to exchange business ideas, review pricing and marketing strategies, brush up on important techniques, tackle social media and re-ignite your creativity and productivity.

Kamloops, BC - October 13-15

Kamloops Keynote Presentation:

Mark Laurie, MPA, SPA, Fppoc, Fswpp, Mphotog.

“A Peculiar Vision of Photography”

Mark has been around for a loonnngg time. He is often annoyingly, but warmly, referred to as an institution, making him wonder when he lost his rebel mantel.  He will explore that bemusement. Mark will share his passion for his craft, his nude portrait niche, the PPOC and the industry. He has been part of the changes from the past and remains a texture in the changes that are evolving. There will be insights, mirth, and even some ideas you can use.

Note: Kamloops will also feature PPOC-BC judging October 12th and 13th. Free to watch.

Sidney, BC - November 3-5

Sidney Keynote Presentation: Kate Siobhan Milligan.

“Elevate your Travel Photography”

Kate keeps no secrets as she offers insights on how to create amazing images while traveling. Her entertaining lessons include simple choices for strong imagery, how to approach strangers on the street, and creativity while abroad. Kate will also touch on storytelling and how to connect your images to form a whole story, whether pictorial, portrait or street.

Note: Sidney will also feature PPOC-BC awards ceremony November 4th. Free to attend.
